Among the top 50 in the ranking of the "WirtschaftsWoche"
On behalf of the renowned German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche, 4,000 German medium-sized companies were examined and the 50 most sustainable were determined. The Brückner Group in Siegsdorf is one of them – as one of only four mechanical engineering companies. This recognises the sustainable corporate governance and explicit sustainability management of all members of the Brückner Group. The management holding Brückner Group, as well as Brückner Maschinenbau, Brückner Servtec, Kiefel and PackSys Global with all their subsidiaries and foreign locations were confirmed: Sustainability is anchored in the core of the companies, ESG goals (ESG = Environmental, Social & Corporate Governance) are closely linked to the company's values and mission statement as well as its corporate objectives, and sustainability efforts are reported on in detail and transparently.
For the second time since 2022, the ranking examined which companies in the German SME sector are pioneers in the areas of ecology, social affairs and responsible corporate governance. For this purpose, the respective ESG initiatives were analyzed in a multi-stage analysis process. A specially developed "Sustainability Score" evaluates the commitment based on three criteria: ESG perception, ESG documentation and ESG implementation.
For more than 50 years, innovation at Packsys Global has not only been about strategically developing machines that consume less energy and building on them to develop more environmentally sustainable products, but also about modernizing our facilities, developing our own equipment or carrying out social actions.
In recent years and in collaboration with the Brückner Group to achieve goals such as the one achieved in this ranking, PackSys Global has reached several milestones and worked on different projects, such as our new state-of-the-art headquarters, a smart building built in a sustainable way and with more than 1540 solar panels that make our production autonomous and self-sufficient up to 70% if the assembly hall is working at full capacity.
Also, the creation of our new Technology Centre, the KREA LAB, where our team has the most modern facilities for the testing of new trends and sustainable products, as well as for the study and evolution of the machines in our portfolio. Finally, as part of our strategy, we are also committed to sustainability on the social side, where we help locally with actions such as the Soup Day in Switzerland.
Dr. Axel von Wiedersperg, CEO of the Brückner Group: "The fact that we as a group of companies belong to Germany's 50 most sustainable medium-sized companies is of course a huge award. On the one hand, it is recognition for our constant efforts towards a sustainable corporate culture, on the other hand, it is also an incentive to become even better when it comes to reconciling ecology and social issues with long-term economic success."
The Brückner Group is a family-owned, medium-sized group of companies with a total of more than 2,900 employees at 20 locations worldwide. Group members are Brückner Maschinenbau, world market leader in production lines for oriented films, Brückner Servtec, service provider for film stretching technology, Kiefel, a leading manufacturer of machines for natural fibre and plastics processing, and the Swiss PackSys Global, a world-renowned manufacturer of state-of-the-art packaging machines.
