Sustainable reduction of plastic content in tube shoulders

NorthStar technology is our innovative solution for reducing the amount of plastic in tube shoulders for sustainable packaging. By using ribs in the flat part of the shoulder, we can significantly reduce weight without compromising stability, strength or functionality.
With our approach, we achieve a shoulder weight reduction of about 10% for a tube diameter of 35 mm. With a tube diameter of 50 mm, we reduce the shoulder weight by around 20%. These values are based on a starting shoulder thickness of 1.0 mm. When the original shoulder thickness is more than 1.0 mm then the savings are even greater. These savings not only lead to more sustainable production, but also to lower energy consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.
